SINGITA GRUMETI
DISCOVER SINGITA TANZANIA
Spread over 350 000 acres of pristine, private-owned, untouched wilderness, the Singita Grumeti Reserves in North Tanzania forms part of the spectacular Serengeti-Mara ecosystem of East Africa. Singita Grumeti Reserves offers one of the most extraordinary wildlife viewing spectacles on earth with its prime location in the Great Serengeti, unmatched to any other experience in East Africa.
Serengeti is a Maasai word meaning 'the place where the land stretches as far as the eye can see'. This seemingly infinite private reserve, roughly the size of the average country in Europe, is set aside for the enjoyment of just a handful of guests with only three camps, each with its own unique location along the famous migratory route traversed by over a million animals every year. Within this vast reserve's exclusivity you will seldom encounter another game viewing vehicle when you set out on a drive to witness the region's wildlife, and you are at liberty to stay out as long as you like to observe the prides of lions and collosal herds of wildebeest, amongst all the other big game.

ARCHIVE: Singita Equestrian Center in East Africa:
A history of the Horse Back Safaris at Singita Grumeti Reserves, Tanzania
"Singita Grumeti Reserves is the only place where experienced riders can indulge in exhilirating horseback safaris in the Serengeti. Guided safaris with qualified and highly experienced safari guides, riders can choose from well trained warmblood and thoroughbred polo ponies to suit every taste. The saddlery offers both English and Western tack. Less experienced riders can still take a ride within camp grounds on the designated riding trail, however, for their safety we do not recommend rides out in the Serengeti as a vast experience in galloping and cantering is mandatory for all riders. For experienced horse riders, Guided Safaris offers an exciting horseback safari program between June through October and January through March for three, five and seven day packages offering a chance to stay at each of the three unique safari lodges in the vast Singita Grumeti Reserves. The rides start at the equestrian center at Singita Sasakwa Lodge, on to Singita Sabora Tented Camp and end at Singita Faru Faru Lodge. Prior to each horseback safari, guests are led out for a two-hour acclimatization program in the Serengeti plains to acquaint themselves with the tack and horses.
